Welding consumables – for all spheres of life!

The Saarstahl Precision Welding plant produces high-quality products, with a focus on wire and bar material for shielded metal-arc welding of hard-facing and tool steels, along with wire products for thermal spraying in the fields both of conventional spraying and of a range of processes for cylinder-bore coating (CBC). The plant’s range of products and services include:

  • Bright and copper-plated welding wire electrodes and spray wires in catch-weight coils, drums or on traverse-wound coils, also spooled on all widely-used bobbins in the 0.80 mm to 5.00 mm dimension range.
  • Copper-plated spraying wire material for cylinder-bore coating (CBC), supplied in drums, on traverse-wound coils and on all widely-used bobbins.
  • Bare-wire electrodes in catch-weight coils (wire) or in the form of straightened and cut bar material in standard lengths in the 1.50 mm to 5.00 mm dimension range.
  • Bright and copper-plated welding rods (length: 1000 mm), with stamped marking if requested, in the 1.00 mm to 4.00 mm dimension range.

Other dimensions and versions are possible on request.

Spray wires for electric-arc and flame spraying

  • Non-alloy and medium-alloy copper-plated solid wire for application of medium-hard to extremely hard spray coatings.
    Product group 1.1 to 1.5
  • Alloyed, copper-plated or bright solid wire for application of hard spray coatings/hard facing.
    Product group 2.1 to 2.4
  • High-alloy, bright-drawn solid wire for attainment of slightly corrosion-resistant spray coatings of medium hardness.
    Product group 3.1 to 3.3

Weld filler materials for shielded metal-arc welding

  • MIG and TIG welding for hard facing

    Product group 1.1 to 1.11
Copper-plated, medium-alloy and alloyed weld filler materials for welding of hard facing on to wear parts.
    Coating: medium to extremely hard.
The WA series is also available with specially adjusted physical properties.

    Product group 1.12 to 1.14
High-alloy, bright or copper-plated drawn weld filler materials for hard-facing welding with special physical properties. Possibility of use of joint welding of steels/cast steels of like composition.
  • MIG and TIG welding of corrosion-resistant and chemically resistant steels

    Product group 2.1 to 2.4
High-alloy bright-drawn weld filler materials for joint welding and hard-facing of austenitic steels for structural components and also for chemical equipment and vessel engineering exposed to severe corrosion potentials.
  • MIG and TIG welds on heat-resistant steels

    Product group 3.1 to 3.4
High-alloy bright-drawn weld filler materials for joint-welding and hard-facing welds on heat-resistant and non-scaling ferritic and ferritic-austenitic steels.
  • MIG and TIG welding of steels for special applications

    Product group 4.1 to 4.4
High-alloy bright-drawn weld filler materials for a range of applications, for example: difficult-to-weld steels, buffer plants and high-temperature steels/hardenable hard-facing welding.

Weld filler materials for submerged-arc welding

  • SA welding for hard-facing

    Product group 1.1 to 1.6
Blank and copper-plated medium-alloy and alloyed weld filler materials for welding of hard-facing on to wear parts.

    Coating: moderately to extremely hard
  • SA welding of heat-resistant steels

    Product group 2.1 to 2.3
    High-alloy bright-drawn weld filler materials for joint-welding and hard-facing on heat-resistant and non-scaling ferritic and ferritic-austenitic steels.
